Cheap & Cheeky Frills

There is nothing better than to find out where you can save a buck while travel. Luxury consierge services and luxury magazines are not the ones to turn to in the times of the economic crisis when people of various age are making cuts and accommodation to travel "expense-light". Even during the big holidays, such as Thanksgiving and Christams, more people are now prefer to travel by car (AAA estimated 33.2 million people will travel by automobile, down 1.2 percent from 33.6 million last year) than by air or train. According to AAA about 4.54 million people traveled by plane, down 7.2 percent from the 4.89 million people who flew last year.

About 41 million Americans traveled 50 miles or more from home during last week's holiday weekend, down 1.4 percent from last year, according to a survey of more than 2,000 people.

So, you've got to appreciate the deals that some of the transporation services are willng to offer and those are featured by me this week:

Spirit airlines now offers airfares as low as $10 round fare from to Florida, go to Spirit Airlines to find out where else they can take you cheap.

We are all loving now the Megabus deals for $1 round fare to NY, only one condition, book a few weeks in advance (my friend books for each weekend from DC to New York, costing him only $8.00 in all fares, so even if he does not go to NY on the booked weekend, it's still beats the one time fare of $25.00 (which is still better than paying more for the gas.)
